The holiday party for the OCBA commenced with joy and merriment on the evening on December 4th. Thank you to Ken from Georgian Court University for securing the Mansion for our party venue for another year for our group.
Guests began to arrive after 5pm where they checked in and deposited their Careing for Children donations as well as their secret Santa raffle gifts. As the band played the night away, we enjoyed an open bar and delicious food while we caught up with members and their guests.
Paul and the other musicians provided us all with customized lyrics for this year’s OCBA version of the 12 days of Christmas carol and surprised us with a localized, sing-a-long rendition of Take Me Home, Country Roads.
The raffle tickets were drawn and the gifts were distributed to the recipients with good humor and gratitude.
The winner of the OCBA review and win challenge was drawn and announced at the event – Jess Pepe from Ocean Partnership for Children was delighted to receive a full year of OCBA membership as the contest prize, sponsored by On Your Mark Designs and Safe Harbor Wealth Management.
Before the end of the night, Ken Karamichael brought interested guests on a tour of the historic mansion and filled us in on some of the fascinating elements of the venue and stories about it’s origins and how the University has used the space over the years.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to all those who donated gifts to families in need throughout Ocean County via Careing for Children. Seasons greetings, Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and happy holidays to all!
